During the past 18 months the Trust has been fundraising in order to build a specialised, fully accessible external playground to help improve the mental and physical health of pupils and the wider disabled community, replacing the current playground which is over 20 years old, unsafe and no longer meets the needs of pupils. A wonderful new playground is being planned, including a wide range of sensory and activity items, delivering challenging play equipment for students aged 5-19 with a wide range of complex life conditions and mixed abilities of movement and challenging needs. There will also be fitness equipment which will allow older pupils to focus on overall strength and fitness development. In addition to Linden Lodge pupils, around 200 siblings of the pupils and 600 children with disabilities from the local community are anticipated to use the new playground. We are delighted that this project will soon become reality!
