This year’s Parkside in Bloom, set among some beautiful gardens around Drax Avenue and Lindisfarne Road, was a tremendous success, raising £13,000 in support of the pupils of Linden Lodge School. The evening was a true celebration of community and generosity, made all the more enjoyable as the rain, which had been threatening for some time, held off until the very end! Thank you to everyone who came along and to all those who helped behind the scenes.

Our sincere thanks go to the owners of the seven stunning gardens who opened their gates for this special occasion. From elegant formal borders to cottage-style havens, each garden was a joy to explore and reflected the care and creativity of its owners. We’re especially grateful to Liz and Peter Jones who offered their lovely garden for the drinks reception, where guests met some of the pupils from Linden Lodge, along with headteacher Sarah Norris and members of staff. We were once again treated to wonderful live jazz, courtesy of Ben Clogston on tenor sax and Reuben Fachon on guitar.
